With panoramic views of the Tasman Sea, The Bay Motel overlooks Halfmoon Bay on Stewart Island. It features a nearby golf course, a free shuttle service and free private parking on site. Our host Ted met us at the ferry on arrival (we had pre arranged this) and took us on a short drive to introduce us to Oban. Our studio was spacious with all the facilities needed for our 2 night stay. We arrived late afternoon to an already warm room. Views from the balcony of Half Moon Bay in the late afternoon sun were splendid. Fresh milk was provided and appreciated. The Motel is an easy walk to town and to walking tracks. Ted and Donna were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Ted gave us tips on a shortcut to Golden Bay and pointed us to places to eat. He also took us back to the ferry when it was time to go - then went above and beyond by delivering back to me my charger and cables that I left behind. We wholeheartedly recommend The Bay Motel.

Stewart Island's iconic South Sea Hotel is located on the foreshore, in the centre of town. It is 2 minutes’ walk from the ferry and airline terminals. we loved the whole place the food the quiz very clean and tidy the service by staff was amazing they couldn't help more just a great place to come and stay we would tell any one to go there thankyou so much
